Christmas in July 2020 Hop

Welcome!!!
Thanks for hopping along with us for our first
Build Your Stash  Holiday Hop!!!
I am super excited to be a part of this new group for those of you that make holiday cards all year round!
I, unfortunately do not start may Christmas cards until September.
Well, last year I got so behind, that I could only send a few, because I did not get a chance to "make" Christmas cards. No one I send to wants a bought box card anymore.
Shame on me for setting their Christmas card expectations so high
All that being said, I am thrilled to break out all my Christmas stamps, and start getting reacquainted with them again, since I missed them last year...and what did I do?? I went and took advantage of the sale over at Jaded Blossom!
Check out this super sweet coffee shop from their Christmas Village collection
For this card I started with a white card base
Then I die cut a white panel using
(gorgeous cover plate, right?)
I stamped the image onto white, Copic friendly card stock
and colored it up in less than an hour, and fussy cut it out...
then I was stumped...
Adding the now colored image to the card front, it seemed too small, so I added a stitched snowbank behind it...still needing something, I figured it has to be something to help it pop.
I ended up adding 2 clouds I cut out from one of the cloud dies I have.
It didn't have to pop effect I wanted, but I like how it looks.
I added some clear sequins, and tied it all up with a red bakers twine bow.
I sure hope you are having fun hopping along with us...

Friends of Unity~ July 2020~ Paper Piecing

Hey there!!
Welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
It's time for another Friends of Unity blog hop!!
This month's cue, Paper Piecing!!

Before we get started, I'd like to announce the winner of the June hop!
Congratulations to
That large feather image makes a beautiful focal point on your card and I love the bright colors that you used!

Please contact me at robyn6420@aol.com
or on Fb messenger :) with your address!

I absolutely love to fussy cut, so what others find tedious, I find soothing...
...no, I'm serious!!

The very first time I ever saw paper piecing was actually in the Unity Show n Tell group!!
Can you guess who used it??
She is a past DT member who I became fast friends with..... :)
I have a huge giveaway for the right answer....
Your first clue is...She is from the UK
Your second clue is...She was the Queen of Paper Piecing, and used soft color pallets, and lots of gorgeous paper!

But, was only on the design team for a few years.

As Unity adjusts to all the changes, I was mistakenly sent 2 KOM's...contacting Unity, they said I could just do a giveaway with it...
I will put everyone with the right answer to my question into Random.org, and choose a winner to send the June 2020 KOM to!!
Good luck, everyone!!

For this months card, I chose Hip, hip, hooray
I was so thrilled with the size of this stamp!!!
She's no bigger than the Planner Girls are..perfect little stamp!

I used some pattern paper, and stamped the image into it. Then I heat embossed it in black, so I have a nice ridge to trim against, then I use my black Memento pen to go around the white edges, then glued it onto the full stamped image ...easy peasy, lemon squeezy!!!
I used a few dies from Kat Scrappiness and enamel dots from Gina Marie
I used some purple seam binding to tie a belly band around the entire card :)
The paper pack is from Unity called Rainbow Vibes
Yes, her hair is purple 💜💜💜😉
(thought I'd give it a try)
I really love how this card turned out!!
Here are some extra pictures I took of the envelope.
Also sharing how I use that extra strip of paper I cut off the 6x6 piece.

Below are stickers for the envelope

I wanted to share with everyone that I have created a FB group to post my cards...here is the link if you'd like to join me. I hope you all do, as I will no longer share them to my personal FB...thanks for all your wonderful, caring words on my blog, and on FB, too

Be sure to comment on every blog in the hop, because there are more giveaways to be won!!!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers~ Waving Goodbye to Paper Smooches

Hey there, welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
Today the design team wanted to say a special goodbye to one of our Super Sponsors and friend to our team,

We were heartbroken when we read Paper Smooches were closing!
We are sorry to see them go, but we know we will still be seeing them around.

I created this fun card using a few sets I love.

Caffeinated~ has those cute little bobas to run around and fill your glass...how cute!!
Caffeinated Two~ for the words "cute & "tea"
Starting with my card base, I used Papertrey Ink card stock in kraft.

Then I used  a rectangle die from Waffle Flower to cut my first layer..

I stamped out the images and colored them with Copics, Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies...
I added  pop dots to the back of the bobas

For the tea glass, I use the coordinating die to cute a piece of acetate to go over the front of the cup. I left the shine on the cup so you could maybe see it....
~I received a card from Lisa Bzibziak, and she did that, so I tried it...very cool~
I cut a doily from kraft pattern paper, then started adding my colored pieces..

That's it for me
