Friends of Unity~ September is Wings

Hey there!!
Welcome to Robyn's Nest!!

We are growing here at Friends of Unity!!
We are thrilled to announce the addition of
Kim Van Zant Klinklovsky
AND
Bobbie Sue McConathy
Both ladies are such amazing crafters that share our love for Unity Stamp Company!!
We are lucky to have them accept our invitation!!
Welcome ladies!!!

My 1st card for this months hop is keeping a little bit of Summer ..
To make this card, all I did was swirl 5 different distress inks for the background..
mounted it onto black cardstock
Then, using the butterfly, and sentiment  from the KOM 5/17
 Free Your Dreams {kom 5/17}
I stamped the image directly onto the background piece~
For the sentiment, I did emboss it with clear ep,
As an afterthought, I used white acrylic paint , watered down a bit and flicked it onto the entire card
(I kinda wish I had done that before I did my stamping)
then tied the eyelash ribbon around the middle...

For my second card...
I used the KOM 7/17
 Glittering Eyes {kom 7/16}
I started out with kraft cardstock, and matching pattern paper from
Papertrey Ink
I stamped the butterflies directly onto the pattern paper, and then clear embossed it
On a second piece of kraft cs, I stamped the sentiment, and clear embossed it as well
then I distressed the edges of the paper with matching ink.. (love doing that )
I had to think on this card for a long time..
the sentiment needed to be boardered and I just couldn't find anything that looked good....
so, when I get stuck, I start cleaning~ LOL~
yep...you never know what you'll find under that mess..
then I spotted my roll of burlap!!
YAY!
The sentiment is from Lilli Girl~ Link <<<
 Lilli Girl

I sat back down, and started layering..
First I cut the burlap long enough to be seen..
I bought some burlap flowers at Michael's and they always come in handy!!
I cut  some leaves from a Sizzix die set
Glued down the leaves, then added the flowers!!
I love using ribbon!
I had this espresso colored sheer ribbon from
CTMH and it looked perfect..I did put a little curl in the ribbon ;)

If you look closely, you can see the word "love" that is in the stamp..
I never noticed it until I stamped it!!
That just made my day!
It is so sweet..like a hidden message you hope the recipient of the card notices, too.
The little blue bird is from a 3D sticker pack I've had a long time!!

I like to mention that the sweet basket weave coffee was a gift from Lisa Burton Bradford

Well, that's it for me!!
I hope we have given you some inspiration with our love for Unity stamps!!
