Friends of Unity~ October Birthday

Hey there!!
Welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
This months cue is Birthday
YAY!!
Because it's my beautiful niece's birthday month, too and she turns 50
Happy birthday, Shanna
I made this card using Unity's Kit of the month for November 2018

This first card came together pretty easy. I had it in my head and with a little help from my DT friends, I chose to finish with the big "cheers" die

This second card was not planned at all, but this gorgeous cupcake was calling me to color it up.
So I used the same color scheme..
I hope you like my cards for this month!
That's it for me

For my last card, I chose to use this fabulous new set from

I absolutely love this set! Oh my gosh! Too cute!
I colored this up with several Copic markers and die cut it out with a die from Papertrey Ink
I love using burlap, so when shopping at "The Lob" (Hobby Lobby) I saw this fun paper pack! Ack! Meant for ME!!
I was all done with this card, and putting away my mess, when I spotted this cute, CUTE little squirrel in another set, so I quickly stamped him out and colored him up! I know he doesn't really have on a sweater, but, I saw where I could give him one! After fussy cutting him out, I used a pop dot and stuck down  :) HaHa!!
I just love the squirrels in

Friends of Unity~ September

 Hey there!!!

 Welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
Happy Labor Day Weekend!!!
It's the first weekend of the month!! YAY!

***anyone else having a time of the "New Blogger"?**

I'd like to announce the winner from last months blog candy giveaway I had for one commenter...

Congratulations, Cheryl Taylor!!

I love the bright colours and polka dots, but my favourite part is the owl. It is ADORABLE!

Thanks Cheryl, for your sweet comments!

Your prize is finally on the way! <3

ok, onto the hop!!!

Our cue for this month is Friendship!

I have several, amazing, life long friends!

and my new crafty friends, too

This card is for my longest friend, Jennifer Busto

Jennifer and I met when she was a young girl (12) and we are still friends today.

Her birthday is on the 29th and I bought this set especially for her

Cherished Friends

I started out stamping them on PTI white card stock...Jenn is very much a girly girl, so it had to be pink!!
Jennifer's hair is much shorter, than this, but, mine is pretty close in the gray department

The sentiment in this kit was very long, so I carefully cut it after stamping
Jennifer is like my little sister, and she means the world to me!!
I hope she likes card ;)
Did you arrive her from
Sweet Dawn had a birthday!! Happy birthday, Dawn!!

Up next in the hop is my friend

Guest Designing with Krafty Chicks

Hey there!!
Welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
I am super stoked to be guest designing with Krafty Chicks Challenge, and hanging out in their "hen house" for the entire month of September!
I was so surprised when Lori Turner contacted me, and asked!
Thanks, Lori for the invitation!!!!
Here's the link for you

My first card of the month is for my cousin Melody, in Illinois..
We grew up together, very closely, and here we are in our old age, still best friends!!
We try to vacation together, and so far we have been on 7 cruises..the last one in March of this year, before the world went crazy!!

Ok...enough chit chatting!!
Here's what I came up with

I wanted to make Melody a new card since it's been a while.
I didn't have any ideas in my head, so I went to the cards my crafty friends send me for inspiration.
Lisa Bzibziak sent me this gorgeous card last year. She is an amazing card maker, and I claim to be her number one #fangirl

Almost an exact copy 💖 (hers is prettier)

Here's a shot of the inside of the card, too
The details are as follows....
I used, My Favorite Things, Pure Innocence line of stamps (love them)
The set is called "You're My Person"

I started with a piece of heavy Papertrey Ink white card stock
I cut a heart out using Lawn Fawn stitched hearts, and a piece of pink velum..
I cut some plaid card stock with a fancy scalloped die
I stamped the girls image on white card stock, and colored the skin and hair with Copics.
I used the same paper pack to paper piece their clothes, then used the matching die to cut them out...
I used a few tiny white flowers, some sweet butterflies, and, stitched clouds to complete the card.
I just love how it turned out, and I know she will, too!!

If you have any questions about what companies I use, please ask in comments!
I try to keep my posts short, but would love to hear from you!!

That's it for me this week!!
See you back on September 10th for my 2nd card!!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers~ Fun with Jaded Blossom

Hey there, and welcome back to Robyn's Nest!!

I have a couple fun cards for you today from one of my favorite Super Sponsors, Jaded Blossom!

Their July release was all for me! Just kidding, but you would think so with all that coffee goodness! Anything from fun, new coffee stamps, to new coffee themed stencils! I was in heaven!

As soon as the sets arrived, I couldn't wait to get inky!
I am having a random blog candy giveaway this month
Comment to be entered to win

First, I used the super sweet owl from the Don't Give a Hoot set
 link is below

Don't Give a Hoot

Ack!! How cute is this Owl??
I started out by stamping, then coloring the image with Copics,
then I decided to paper piece the cup!
Next, I fussy cut it out...
Going through my stash, I ran across these dies from
Best Day Ever, and Jumping Jacks
I cut the dies out with a few colored card stock
I then went looking for a tree die, or stamp, and found that I had bought this gorgeous birch tree die from Simon Says Stamp. So, I cut it out in white, then I used a deckle blade to trim the edges around that piece. I added a colorful polka dot piece of card stock I had used on a previous card, so I added it behind the trees :)
The Best Day Ever dies came with these super fun flowers, so I added them, too...
The Jumping Jacks die is so awesome! I loved using it on this card...

I also decided to use the negative piece from die cutting to make another card, just for fun!!

I really love how these 2 turned out...I felt like I was channeling my inner Lisa Bzibziak on these 2! That's not a bad thing, either, since I'm her super fan ;) and she constantly inspires me with her amazing creations!!
I sure hope you enjoyed my cards for this month!!
See you here again next month
 (September 16th is my day)

Friends of Unity~ August 2020

Hey there, welcome to Robyn's Nest!!
For this months cue, we chose Sympathy
Before I get to the details of my card, I want to announce the answer to my question for last month
Q~ who was the past design team member, from the UK that is the  Queen of Paper Piecing??
Answer is~ Sharon Nettleship***
I got an email from Karen Ladd with the correct answer!!
Congratulations Karen!!
I have already sent out the prize (June 202 Kit of the Month) and a little extra ;)

For my sympathy card, I chose to use
For this image, I saw it being water colored easily...after water coloring it, I use my Copic markers very carefully to darken the "grout"
Here is a close up of the sentiment
I had to have this sentiment set when it came out by Ann Butler Designs
After I finished this card, and took the pictures, I began to clean up a bit, and under some paper I found this perfect bow...I have it taped down on the backside of the card...I wanted to get an opinion...keep the bow, or lose the bow...I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

With the bow

That's it for me this month...

Coffee Loving Cradmakers ~ National Iced Tea Day

Hey there!
What's brewin'??
Happy National Iced Tea Day!!!
Welcome to Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop!
Click here to start from the beginning :)
Coffee Loving Cradmakers

Being from the South, I have a fresh gallon of iced tea in my fridge all the time, with a back up jug in the spare fridge on the front porch...😂😂
(kidding, it's in the garage)
😋
I drink mine slightly sweet, with lemon!
 I love lemon tea!
My family, however, have to have their sweet tea, sweet! 2 full cups of sugar goes into my sweet
tea, and we ONLY use Luzianne
How do you make your tea?
I'd love to make sun tea, but frankly, it goes so fast, I'd need to be a week ahead. lol..no time for that

For my card, I stamped the iced tea glass from a set from Little Inkers, and added some ice cubes to float around the top, then, I colored it with Copics. I added white gel pen to add highlights.
I had these little lemons stamped off and colored in my stash, so I added them.
This sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.
Hey Y'all

I use this set quite often. I love the font, so much..
Well, that's it from me this month!
I'll be back next month on July15th

For this card, I am featuring..
Unity Stamp Company
I absolutely love Unity!!
I use their stamp all the time!
I've been shopping with them for over 10 years
They have the most wonderful coffee themed stamps and sentiment kits!
As usual, Unity Stamp Company has offered up a very generous giveaway valued at
$211.00
Can you believe that!!!???
Look at all that amazing red rubber!!
Do you see that paper pack tucked neatly in the middle??  😉
Be sure to link up your own, new, coffee/tea/cocoa project (doesn't have to be a card)
 for your chance to win!!
For this card, I stamped Bailey with Memento ink
Then I paper pieced her shirt, by stamping the image onto pattern paper, then fussy cut it out, then I glued it in place

Here's a close-up..sorry about the shadow :(
Can you tel the cup is popped up?
I decided to fussy cut the cup, and it turned out cute with "love' stamped onto it. This set comes with quite a few stamps to customize your mug

Next, after coloring her hair, I stamped the sentiment on black cs, and embossed it with white embossing powder..
.adding a few sequins from favorite place to buy sequins,
Pretty Pink Posh

Onto my card...
This months cue is Favorite Angie Girl or Guy!!
Well that's difficult!!
I love them all. I do, however, have my favs :) and I have narrowed it down to 6... 😏
I'm sure by now you have heard the news that
Angie Blom and USCo have separated.
I know 😭
I can say with all honesty, I will miss Angie Blom's Unity stamps!
I do love digital stamping, and will follow Angie wherever she goes!! 💛
I wish her well

Onto my card for this month...
Now, don't be too jealous, but I have the highly coveted March 2015 Kit of the Month!!
I KNOW!!!
So lucky!! I bought it before they removed it.
I am using the Angie girl from that kit!!
Sorry, the picture looks rough :/
Pretty In Pink

I am so happy with how she turned out!
At first, I was afraid I had overworked her hair, but the pictures looked ok, so I went with it
I used Copics to color her, and a die from Papertrey Ink to cut out the finished image..glued her onto  pink card stock, then found a matching piece of pattern paper
I used rectangle dies I bought from Elizabeth Craft back in the Fall.
The ribbon is from Close to my Heart, and the sweet little flower is from Jolee's
I hope you have enjoyed the Hop so far!!

My Growing in Unity Week~ Day 2

Hey there!
Welcome back to Robyn's Nest
How are you?
Did you stop by here yesterday for Day 1 of my GIU week?
I sure hope so, and I hope you left me a comment, so you're entered into the giveaway

Today is day 2 of my Growing in Unity week.

For this card, I stamped the pine cone image from Unity's Kit of the Month for
September, 2015 called From Our Hearts to Yours
After stamping the image, I colored it with Copics.
I added some white gel pen as snow and highlights.
I added more pine boughs from my stash behind the image and popped it up with a couple dimensionals
I used the Cable Knit embossing folder from Stampin Up on the very vanilla top layer, then I used the Tim Holtz tool to drag the edges for a shred or distressed look. I actually use this little tool a lot.
The sentiment is from this same KOTM
Pretty, but simple card.
I CASE'd this card from one I made last year with mostly dies.

Our Hearts to Yours {kom 9/15}
Be sure to come back tomorrow as I am pulling
 double duty!!
Tomorrow 12/11 is my once a month blog post with
 Coffee Loving Cardmakers, from the
Coffee Loving Papercrafters FB group where I am a FB Ambassador, and Moderator in the group.
Unity Stamp Co. is always a huge supporter of our blog hops.
I am so happy to be representing both of my very favorite groups on Facebook

Only one pop dot was used this time 😉 on the cute little coffee cup
Kraft paper and twine are from Papertrey Ink
A few shiny little leaves from a sequins pack from my stash.
I used the Kit of the Month from
September 2018 called (blessed fall)
 for this card..and these others
