Happy New Year!!!
It's time again for our once a month blog hop, celebrating our love of Unity Stamp Company!!
First thing I want to do is announce the winners of last months giveaway
Wilma DeG
Another great card! I really love the added ribbon on the stem... the perfect touch! (And here's another stamp for my wishlist! LOL)
and
Carol Wortman
Cheers to you on this wonderful Anniversary... many more. I love how you colored this glass. The pen sparkle looks very realistic. Oooo and bubbles make a party! The bow and sentiment add that perfect pop. Love this card. This was fun again... Merry Christmas!!
Please email me @robyn6420@aol.com
with your full name and address
Friends, please know that our hops are not sponsored.
(Although, we know Unity Stamp Co. lovingly approves) Because your
support is so valuable and so appreciated, prizes are given from the
creators own private stash of Unity stamps.
For this month the cue is
Black & White
I love B&W with a pop of color somewhere, but this one was all B&W...a challenge for me!
I feel like I cheated in some way, because this was too easy...
I chose to heat emboss.
I used Brutus Monroe ink and embossing powder.
I really love their powder, and ink

I started with Angie's Tree~ below is a link
I stamped in Versafine clear ink, then heat embossed it with black powder
I stamped the sentiment on vellum, and also heat embossed it (be sure to let this dry before you trim)
See those sweet hearts hanging from the tree?
I wanted to color them...so bad...I'm glad I left them alone!!

I had the Thank You die cut in my stash, as well as a line of crows, so I cut one out and added him
(no idea why I did this)
For my second card I had to make something "coffee" because, well, it's my thing
(along with vintage campers)
My absolute favorite stamp from Unity is
Dream of Being
It's always the perfect stamp for me.

Oh this card!!
I had it all assembled, right?
I had it all assembled, right?
I went to glue it all down, and on a whim, I put the sentiment (with glue on it) at the top
OMGeeee what did I do?? Too late now, I was stuck or it was, rather.
So here I am wanting to remove it, but it won't come off, so I embraced it.
Added a bow to the bottom, and called it finished.
It turned out ok.
I hope you have enjoyed the hop this month
Please be sure to start at the beginning of this hop over on Crystal's blog

I loved them both. I would have never thought to use that girl stamp that way, but it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs, black and white is so elegant! I'll have to try a frame like that with one of those lovely ladies, it's so charming (it brings to mind those cameo lockets).
ReplyDeleteThese are both great cards, thanks for sharing the process....sometimes the struggle is real!!! Ink that tree up and color those hearts in now! Do it for your own peace, and mine! :) But I am glad that you abstained for this challenge! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards. I always love your cards!
ReplyDeleteNice cards. I think your oops sentiment placement looks just fine!
ReplyDeleteLinda Abel
Beautiful cards, Robyn! Love your slimline... so pretty! Your Dream of Being card is absolutely gorgeous! I'm so inspired... I love her in black and white! Perfection!
ReplyDeleteTwo quite different cards but both are quite amazing - I love them
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the 2nd card and having her embossed in white on the pretty black oval. And the bow w/flower is just so pretty. I love it. And I also love slimlines and birdies, too. Great job, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so lovely! Only you know of those happy accidents! They both are beautiful thought out designs! Thanks for inspiring us!!
ReplyDeleteVannessa Osbourn

Beautiful designs for your b&w cards! Love the pretty images you used!
ReplyDeleteStunning cards! Now I want to get the Angie’s tree stamp set!
ReplyDeleteI love them both but the Angie Girl really caught my interest! Thanks for the ideas!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! It always tweaks me when I have a plan in my head and my fingers don't follow along - nice save!
ReplyDeleteWow, I would never have thought to heat emboss on black for that second card but it looks amazing! Love the bow and sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteI love both of your cards. Dream of Being is so dramatic stamped in white on black. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove both of these! I struggle with black and white as well...I just love color and it's hard to not add it. (I would have wanted to color those heart, too!)
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful Robyn! I messed up a card recently, too. I almost scrapped it, but I came up with something. There is always something to cover those boo boo's.
ReplyDeleteLove the thank you slimline card - that tree is a favorite for me, and it's just beautiful in nothing but black and while. The cameo image of the girl with her coffee is gorgeous. I think the accidental placement of the sentiment is actually perfect!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful cards! The black and white is very striking.
ReplyDeleteI love the slimline tree card so much and the girl drinking coffee is absolutely amazing. The fine lines in white on black gives me a feeling of warmth and introspection. And I love a cup of coffee anytime!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards! Black and white is one of my favorite combos.
ReplyDeleteAWWWWWWWW your cards are just so precious! I would have to agree doing just a black and white only card would really be very hard! I am one that really loves to add a lot of color to mine too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. Love the stamps you chose and great designs. Thanks for the inspiration! Happy New Year, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are very pretty! There is such an elegance to to these cards! It would be hard for me to choose a favorite. Thank you also for explaining your process. I hate when you have a plan and Oops, that's not what I wanted to do and you can't change it. That happened to me the other day. Love the ribbon at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty cards you created in black and white. These came out great.
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful! I love the elegance with the oval die cut and beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is beautiful! I think the Angels guide your hands because your admitted oopsies are always beautiful! I think she would be a lovely locket, especially love her simple elegant Embossing and think the black and white really works! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnd now EEEEEEK... congrats to all winners and beyond excited to see my name here. Thank you Ms.Robyn!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
DeleteThese are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou picked 2 of my favorite images for this black and white themed hop. I like what you did with both and think the sentiment on the second card works well with where it was "placed".
ReplyDeleteThese are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the coffee one!
ReplyDeleteStamping the design in black and white really showcases the stamps and makes an impact. Love these both!
