Friends of Unity~ Febuary 2021

Hey there!! Welcome to Robyn's Nest!! I hope you are doing well!
This months cue is Paper Piecing!! YAY!!
I absolutely LoveLOVE paper piecing!
I know it's not for everyone, but I don't mind fussy cutting most things, so to me, it's no big deal. Plus, I love the result + + right?

For this card, I busted out my Kit of the Month from May 2019 called
I made a mini slimline card...actually, I've made 2 for this hop, but the other one is below..
A mini slimline card...This! This is THE (in my humble opinion) perfect size for most Angie's girls! I cannot believe how nice they have turned out for me. I bought the mini slimline die from Trinity Stamps last year. It was only a scalloped card front. But since then, the have set, with the envelope builder die too for one price. I believe you can still buy the scalloped one pictured above at Simon Says Stamp, last I checked
I'll link you to Trinity below
Mini Slimline Card and Envelope Die Set

I really love how this card turned out. I bowed out the sentiment after embossing it with black.
I colored her up with a few Copic markers
Putty is my newest favorite Copic color to use. That's what I colored her skirt with
I used C-3 on her shirt...which is apparently drying out (See how smudged her shirt looks? That's because the tip was dry and I used it anyway (I liked it ;) Ha! I went out of lines here and there~that pesky, dry tip was hard to control~
I stamped more of the balloons on vellum. I have some that has a swirly pattern on it... then fussy cut them out. Initially, they were for the balloons she's holding, but I didn't like it after I layered it over them, so I set them aside, until found a place to stick them.

My next card is from the same Kit of the Month
You're my kind of Jam!!
I love this!! I am making one of those "You're the Balm" chap-stick things from My Favorite Things, and I'll use that super cute apron shown here. I colored the trim to match. Sending this set to my favorite Aunty in Kissimmee! She collects all things strawberries, so every time I see a new strawberry stamp, or paper I have to buy it! GinaK had a nice paper pack. Not sure if she still sells it :/
But I used this pretty paper from *Queen and Company
I did paper piece the strawberries, too, but it's hard to tell.
I colored my jam a bit too much like the flowers AND the strawberries~ oh well pssst, she won't even care ;)

Next up, and my final card for this month is

Another mini slimline card
I used
*Stampin Up Pool Party colored DSP
*Martha Stewart butterfly punches on pink vellum,
then added a bit of *Stickles to their body.
Yes, I totally forgot to add a center to the flower in her hair, LOL...need to fix that ;)

Well, that' is it for this girl, and I'm the final stop in the hop!

  4. Robyn, you outdid yourself on all of your creations for this month's hop! I have paper pieced the stamp you used in your first card and she does rock the look. I pieced the balloons and her skirt using coordinated papers. I love what you did with all of your examples here.

  7. Your cards are so awesome! I love that you bowed out the sentiment, I am definitely going to try this fun idea! Also I love how you point out the things you might have like or not liked, it is so helpful to know others go through these things too! I love the way the shirt turned out even if it was because the marker is dry. The jam card is adorable! Thank you so much for the welcome to the group message. I am so excited to be a part of this talented group!
